PowerPoint-Lewis Hine

I chose Lewis Hine because I was interested in learning about his photography with childhood labor issues back in the 1900's. The photos seemed so real and I felt that they showed great emotion within the children's facial expressions and also great background detail in each picture. The four pictures that I chose have great detail. My favorite one is of the young sea urchin. His facial expression is radical. Each photo really shows the intense emotion that the young children pursue. I found all of his work to be rather interesting especially his childhood labor collection.

Canvas

I used drumsticks from Guitar Hero to make my letter T. I used a lamp post for my letter I. And I used another lamp stand that had shelves on it for my letter A. Then I used Gimp to edit the three photos into a canvas that spells out my name!

Original Image

This is the original photo before I used "GIMP" to lighten it up. As you can see it is a little darker than the other photo. The room we were in was rather dark and the only light on was a lamp near the window.

New Brightened Photo

This is my friend Erin. We were contemplating on what we should do for the evening and I decided to take a photo of her pondering. The image was a little dark, so I used "GIMP" to brighten the image a bit.

My Personal Banner

This is my banner, it's simple but to the point. It explains me. The girl with me is my best friend Kayla. We went to elementary school together and then my family moved away. We reunited and became best friends my freshman year of college! We love to have fun and be crazy!

This is the same exact picture of the canoe, but I cropped out some of the water and the plant at the beginning of the photo. This focuses more on just the canoe, rather than the other features around the outside of the photo.

Cropped Photo

This picture of the canoe is the original photo. There is much unneeded area that needs to be cropped.

This was the same bird house but I lightened the photo using Picasa's lighting tool.
